Look Like Love
Irked by the lack of support available to graduates, chums Kate Brewer and Eden Asfaha decided to take matters into their own hands, creating the cute, alliterative Look Like Love initiative.
Look Like Love aims to highlight the creative talent of young people across the UK in disciplines including furniture design, graphic design, illustration and jewellery-making. The pair work by helping each designer -whether a graduate, student of part-time creative – by helping them with the business and marketing side of things to give them a platform to start out on their own.
Celebrating the wealth of talent they’ve uncovered, this weekend sees the opening of the ingural Look Like Love exhibition entitled Pop-Up People, which will be held in Peckham, south London.
The show will be housed in the space of design studio TheHouseWith, which has collaborated with Brewer and Asfaha on the project. It’s hoped this will be the first of many Look Like Love shows, with the inaugural outing showing work from six designers, all of whom will be on hand at the show on selected days to have a chat and answer questions about their practices.
Pop-Up People runs from 14 – 28 April at TheHouseWith, 174 Bellenden Road, Peckham, London SE15
How wonderful, young people helping young people. I hope they go from strength to strength. If they can make it in the current economic climate they will all do so well in the future. Well done them!
