Reassuring words that can inspire future generations
With regard to Judy Delin’s Private View (DW 3 October), as a teen-ager, I told my mother I wanted to pursue a career in graphic design.
‘That’s good, dear. You’re going to be an artist’, she replied. I had to explain it would be like working with words and pictures to create a visual message.
I have always believed language and design to be an essential partnership and found Delin’s comments so reassuring.
