Team named for War Museum

DEGW and Amalgam’s Bob Baxter are set to design the Imperial War Museum’s 4m permanent Holocaust exhibition, due to open in late 1999.

The team was chosen over rivals Casson Mann, Evans & Shalev, Agence Philippe Kauffmann, Daniel Libeskind, TBV Dangerfield and Troughton McAslan with Ralph Appelbaum.

The museum held a paid pitch for the 1400m2 exhibition and “scoured” the market for designers before producing a shortlist (DW 9 February).

The exhibition will be sited in the museum’s 3000m2 extension currently being designed by Arup Associates.
