London design consultancy Pearlfisher is publishing a report this week, on what design can do to improve nightlife for the young.
The Night Mode of the Future, researched with The Henley Centre, is the outcome of a think tank of social commentators, including Fish hair salon owner Paul Burfoot, Red or Dead chairman Wayne Hemingway, Sky magazine editor Michael Hogan and Sony dance and A&R man Ric Salmon.
The publication envisages designs for changing lifestyles, such as a bar with a backdrop which changes throughout the day.
The report finds that people are “deferring the experience of youth and enjoying its benefits at a later stage” and that design must be at the centre of brand strategy of businesses that want to attract young people.
