A Conservative Party spokesman has denied a Daily Telegraph report that the party is going to change its logo. “The torch will be the symbol that takes the Conservative Party into the next General Election,” says a spokesman for the party.
It was reported that the artwork for the Tories’ election literature had changed, with the torch symbol – designed by the then Michael Peters Group in 1989 – dropped in favour of a yellow swoosh that appears on www.conservatives.com.
However, the spokesman continues, “This is a case of putting two and two together and making eight.”
