Birmingham City University

A team at Birmingham City University has designed hi-tech headgear to be used to perform operations on babies and young children. The wireless kit, which is 70 per cent lighter than those currently in use, was developed during a two-year period in which Birmingham City University graduate Daniel Harbin interviewed several surgeons and gathered data. Clinical trials are set to commence at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and discussions with manufacturers are taking place.
