Web students at Fashion Week

A student competition to design an innovative fashion website for September London Fashion Week, has been won by students from Coventry School of Art and Design, Staffordshire University and North Wales School of Art and Design.

The winning Red or Dead website was designed by North Wales students, while Staffordshire won the award for the Michiko Koshino site. Coventry won for its efforts for Antoni & Alison.

The competition, backed by BBC Knowledge and BAFTA Interactive, was judged by representatives from the five organising companies.

“The standard was very high considering that they only had a few weeks to create the sites,” says Red or Dead head Wayne Hemingway.

“It’s also nice to know there is a new artistic area for people to study. People used to think of Web design as geeky and nerdy, but now it’s seen as one of the most artistic things that you can do.”
