TPG styles Alessandro Dell’Acqua

Luxury fashion brand Alessandro Dell’Acqua is to launch its first UK store on London’s Old Bond Street in November, with interiors designed by architect and interior design consultancy TPG International.

The two-storey, 130m2 space will echo the brand’s New York flagship store, which is set to open this month. Both will feature black-stained Wenge wood floors, white walls and clear, hanging resin bars comprising LED crystals. These will radiate white light during the day and glow in colour at night.

‘The challenge was to take [the designer’s fashion] ideas and translate them into an architectural image or space,’ TPG International director Louis Trudel explains.

‘We used light and reflective materials to bring out another side to the architecture. It’s all about revealing something unexpected in the space,’ he adds.

The London store, which will carry women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories ranges, will be Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s fourth since its acquisition by the Redwall Group in 2003. The brand is also looking to roll out stores across Europe and Asia.

The Redwall Group appointed TPG International to develop an Alessandro Dell’Acqua retail concept last year, on the back of its existing relationship.

Trudel and consultancy head of design Inga Kruliene are creative leads on the project.
