Ford’s MC2 concept sports coupé is being unveiled at the IAA motor show in Frankfurt next month. It has been designed by Chris Svenson, who played a key role in the Ka. Claude Lobo, design director at Ford’s small and medium vehicle centre says: ‘MC2’s dynamic exterior continues the evolution of Ford’s new edge design philosophy. We sought to create the impression of movement through crisp surface breaks.’ Bold, sheer surfaces are designed to interact, catching light in a way which deceives the eye, he adds. The MC2 will be launched in Europe next March as the Cougar.

The creative team at View on Colour magazine has completed a catalogue for specialist paper client Job Parilux. The images are intended both to be aesthetically pleasing and draw attention to the medium on which they are printed. The visuals were created by translating different skin colours, textures and enhancements into ink and printing techniques. The idea is that the versatility and quality of the paper enables designers to experiment with new ideas and technology. The resulting images incorporate a number of techniques which draw attention to the fundamental message of the campaign – the comparison of the paper with skin. These include body painting, hand prints, tattooing and, to keep the traditionalists happy, a few Old Master portraits.
