Harrods appoints Lewis Moberly

Lewis Moberly is working on the redesign of Harrods’ packaging across its extensive range of ownlabel products, Design Week can exclusively reveal.

The upmarket retailer says that Lewis Moberly had been appointed, as Design Week went to press. ‘[It] is putting packaging concepts together for us. How far they will stretch is yet to be decided,’ a Harrods spokesman confirms.

The consultancy saw off three rivals in a credentials presentation.

Harrods’ creative controller Lisa MacDonald says that, ‘[Lewis Moberly’s work] is covering a diverse range of products. Packaging needs to be versatile and flexible enough to go across different categories.’

Harrods’ biggest own-label category is food and beverages. Most departments have own-label lines, such as menswear, womenswear and homewares.

Lewis Moberly, however, will not work on planned new product development, which will be handled in-house.

No one was available for comment at Lewis Moberly as Design Week went to press.
