Dublin consultancy McCabe O’Farrell Design has created a new restaurant in the city’s Shelbourne hotel. The group named the restaurant The Side Door, for literal reasons. Creative director Barry McCabe says the space was transformed to the tune of 170 000, including a new kitchen. The three lights on the left were designed by Leo Scarff, a past student of McCabe’s at the College of Marketing and Design. Another graduate, Colm Brady, painted the backdrop for the matre d’s position and the restaurant’s identity.

Tableau Design & Marketing has created the identity for Café Van Hage, a new restaurant for The Van Hage Garden Company garden centre in Hertfordshire. Interiors are by Antony Charnley Associates.
