Kodak’s global support arm reaches for Moon

The Eastman Kodak Company is launching the first global identity for its service and support arm, created by London design group Moon.

The consultancy has been working with Kodak since July 1996, and was appointed to develop the identity programme without a pitch.

Kodak will soon begin to roll out its customer-focused strategy, first to business clients and then to consumers, by way of the simple phrase “We’re here for you”. It will appear over the descriptor Kodak Services & Support on marketing material.

“The identity has been specifically designed to be seen alongside any Kodak product in any language,” explains Moon founder Richard Moon.

Kodak Service & Support will always remain in English, while the phrase “We’re here for you” will appear in the local language.

Kodak president of marketing Carl Gustin says: “Moon has delivered a powerful public face for Kodak Service & Support which will raise our profile in all parts of the world and strengthen the Kodak brand.”

Moon adds that the identity will be introduced individually by each of Kodak’s seven business units and will be further modified for specific regions.

The group has also designed two publications, called In Your Hands and Our Future is in Their Hands, outlining the role of the division and guidelines on applying the new identity. They are the first largely black and white publications published by the traditionally colour-oriented business.
