Turner to move to Enterprise IG

Jon Turner is to join Enterprise IG as executive creative director in the London office when he quits The Body Shop at the end of the month. The job makes him a member of two Enterprise IG boards and eligible for election to a third.

Turner will essentially be taking on the role vacated by Franco Bonadio, who left Enterprise IG in August to work freelance after a three-month sabbatical (DW 25 August), according to Enterprise IG managing director Patrick Smith. Bonadio, however, had adopted the title managing creative director. “Jon will be responsible for pushing overall creative standards, attracting the best creative talent to the business and managing the creative resource,” says Smith. But the role will differ in that a lot of the groundwork in terms of staffing and structure has already been done, says Turner.

Turner immediately becomes a member of the Partners Group, which sets global strategy, as well as the Executive Group, which oversees implementation in London. He is expected to be elected to the Board of Directors in December.

He will head up a team of some 70 designers, writers, artworkers and freelance creative staff. Enterprise IG’s 14 creative directors will report to him.

Turner is “very excited” to be joining Enterprise IG. “Everyone is very passionate about what they do,” he says. “They’re a very grown up bunch of people.”

Turner has been head of global design at The Body Shop for six years and has been released early from his contracted six months’ notice. He was previously at events specialist Imagination, which he joined from Fitch.

The Body Shop has declined to comment on plans to replace him.
