Loewy purchase of Templar Downie revealed

Loewy Group has absorbed internal communications design specialist Templar Downie, it has emerged.

The consultancy’s founding partner Andrew Downie claims that he met Loewy’s financial director in April, and that within the month Loewy had purchased Templar Downie. He declines to reveal the financial terms of the deal.

Six of the consultancy’s nine full-time employees have moved over to Loewy, while three non-creative staff have left.

‘This was nothing to do with the move, as they were planning on leaving anyway,’ claims Downie.

‘We are now able to offer a much broader service to clients, all of which we retained following our acquisition,’ says Downie. The consultancy’s biggest clients include London Underground and EDF Energy, for which it has just put together a film on sustainable energy.

‘We are going to work more with other Loewy teams, to allow us to expand further into other design disciplines,’ says Downie.
