Illustrator buddies Jon Boam and Matthew the Horse (the latter of Guardian Sports section fame) are collaborating on an exhibition at Shoreditch’s Nobrow gallery.
Boam’s contributions include a depiction of Davina McCall in helmet and gas mask, while Matthew the Horse’s exhibition pictures include a cyclops on a bicycle with a whisk for a hand.
‘Their work is very character-based and they both create line drawings and colour them in, which is why they feel that their work is compatible,’ says joint creative director of Nobrow Sam Arthur.
Besides showcasing their individual pieces, the pair are collaborating on a mural in the gallery and creating a 50 limited edition collections of football-sticker-style trading cards featuring their characters
Dooom 3.0 runs from 22 July – 23 September at Nobrow Shop and Gallery, 62 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A.
