Coley Porter Bell opens studio in South Africa

Branding and packaging consultancy Coley Porter Bell today launches in Cape Town, South Africa.

The studio is a joint venture between CPB and the South African arm of its parent company Ogilvy, part of the WPP network.

Former Ogilvy SA client services director Tabatha King will head the new office as managing director. She is joined by creative director Simon Andrew, formerly creative director at Riot Design.

Planning director Matthew Weiss will also be part of the team in South Africa, leaving his position as senior planner in CPB London.

There are also changes at the London office, with former CPB London chief executive Vicky Bullen taking the helm as worldwide chief executive, and creative director of CPB London Stephen Bell taking over as executive creative director.

Bullen describes South Africa as ‘a hotbed of creative talent’. She explains that Ogilvy SA and CPB will not share office space in Cape Town. However, along with CPB London, the consultancies will work together on projects and share tools and information.
