The Central Ergonomic Cooker took first prize in a competition for design students at the University of Central England. The brief for second-year students was to rethink the design concept of gas cookers using the findings of a survey on consumers’ needs now and in the future. Mark Teucher, Peter Anderson, Ayse Mustafa and Rajesh Grewal created the winning cooker, which `fully anticipates the changes in market trends highlighted by the survey’, according to a spokesman for Parkinson Cowan, the gas cooker manufacturer which held the competition.
