Channel fish sculptures by Jean-Luc Vilmouth debut

Pictured above is one of ten Channel Fish created by French sculptor Jean-Luc Vilmouth to hang in the Nicholas Grimshaw-designed Waterloo International rail terminal in London. Inaugurated this week, the 44m shoal of fish move and weave, speeding up with the imminent departure of trains. Vilmouth says the fish are inspired by the animal appearance of the terminal, the trains, the shape of the Channel Tunnel itself, and the sand eels, a sprightly coastal fish.
