Glasgow’s Tramway is the venue for a multimedia performance art ensemble on 14 May called Nation. A collaboration between creatives in Glasgow and Belgrade, the event is centred on the themes of territory and boundary, says Graven Images designer Stuart Gilmour, who created this poster. Gilmour says the use of symbols and flags by political movements and regimes, plus the word NATO and its connotations of a borderless Europe, inspired the poster design. Created using low-resolution desk-top scans, the poster is designed to be printed `crudely and cheaply’ on newsprint stock. The poster will also be chopped into four pieces for distribution as flyers, illustrating the fragmentary nature of information.
